Sump System Inspection:
Did you know that most sump pumps fail within 7 to 10 years of service and when they do, the water damage and mold left behind can cost tens of thousands of dollars and months to remediate? Are you unsure of the condition of your current pump(s)? If so, I am happy to stop by and inspect your entire system and clean your sump pit(s) for only $100 for 1 or $125 for 2. Should your pump(s) need replacement and you have me perform the service at the time of the inspection, I will only charge for the installation work; the inspection and cleaning will be FREE. Should I find that the pump(s) or discharge piping requires repair or replacement, that work will be performed at $30 per 30 minutes of additional labor after the inspection & cleaning.

*Please Note: Install price may change depending on your installation. All installations are based on existing sump systems with working electrical and clog-free drainage. All pricing is estimated based on the actual work performed. Pricing is for labor only, customer is responsible for all material costs.
What My Standard Installation Includes (primary or secondary battery backup pumps)
- Inspection of the sump system, dedicated electrical circuit & outlet receptacle, and the drainage piping to identify all parts and materials necessary for the installation.
- Pick up and delivery of needed material from a local supplier within 15 minutes drive time. Additional time will be billed at $30/ 30 minutes. The Customer may order or pick up their desired pump ahead of time if they so choose, but I will have to make a trip to a big box store or local plumbing supplier regardless and purchasing the wrong size or type of pump(s) will only waste your time and possibly increase the cost of my labor.
- Removal of the existing pump(s).
- Installation of the new pump and reattachment to the existing PVC drainage piping. Metallic or other types of drainage piping may incur an additional charge.
- Installation of the secondary battery backup pump, if required.
- Final adjustment and inspection of the pump(s) and drain force to ensure proper operation.
- Clean up of the job site with on-site disposal. The old pump(s) will be left in a trash bin or by the curb in a trash bag for city pick up. Cardboard packaging and other debris will be placed in the appropriate recycling or trash bins or bags.
- One year warranty on all labor. Material warranted according to the manufacturer.
Services That May Incur An Additional Charge
- If it is necessary for me to move any objects or items that may interfere with the installation, an additional fee of $15 per 15 minutes of labor will be incurred.
- Working with non-PVC drainage piping may incur extra costs.
- Should the drainage piping need reconfiguring due to the differences of the new pump to the existing one or the addition of a secondary back up pump, extra labor will be billed at $30 per 30 minutes of additional labor.
- A backcheck valve is required by code for each primary or secondary pump. Although I will perform an inspection at the beginning of the installation, if the existing pump is not functioning, the backcheck valve cannot be properly tested and might be discovered to need replacement after the new pump is installed. As this is an extra cost, I always recommend replacing these valves during the initial installation as hard water deposits can cause the valve to malfunction and for the minimal cost to replace it at the beginning, it is not only well worth the cost, but the peace of mind in knowing that a new one was installed and should last the lifetime of the new pump.
- ***Crawlspace work can increase the time and difficulty of the installation dramatically over that of a typical basement installation. As such, the project cost will be increased accordingly- price to be determined once I am on-site. Tight spaces, muddy or unsanitary conditions, limited access, or any number of other problematic occurrences will be taken into account. If you have a house on a crawl, I recommend sending me a video or at least photos of the access and the interior as best you can and I can give you a rough idea of the cost before I arrive. I will not finalize a crawl installation cost until I see it firsthand. ***
- Should I need to leave the site for any unforeseen project-related reason, my drive time is billed at $30 per every 30 minutes, any unforeseen additional labor is billed at the same rate.
- Please note that any extras or additional labor will be calculated as a running total and not on a per item basis. (i.e. 18 minutes of drive and 12 minutes of labor will be billed at $30 and not 2 separate instances of $30 each.)
How to Prepare for My Visit
- Ensure the work area is accessible and clear of all personal items and debris that may interfere with the installation.
- An adult 18 or older with authority to make decisions must be present through the entire installation. If no one will be available, please contact me as I will be happy to reschedule.
- If you are considering ordering your pump(s) ahead of time to save time and money, I suggest coordinating with me first so that I can aid you in choosing the right replacement pump for you setup. Some quick advice is to never buy anything less than 1/2 HP, never switch to a pedestal type of pump unless it is absolutely necessary (shallow or narrow sump pit) (submersive style pumps are the way to go), and always replace the backcheck valves. Lastly, if your budget allows, opt for a combination style pump (these are best in my opinion unless you have a good municipal water supply (wells need electricity) and then I would recommend a water pump) or at least the addition of a battery backup secondary pump. You will be glad when the storms hit and the power goes out.
- Please keep pets and children clear of the job site area. I cannot be responsible for their supervision or safety.
- If you have any questions at all, please contact me directly, I am happy to assist.
